Best for players level 35-45.
Bosses
Below are guides for the bosses in Scarlet Monastery - Cathedral, including their abilities, healer notes, and addon settings.
Commander Mograine / Inquisitor Whitemane
This is a multi-stage encounter, during which you'll be fighting against Scarlet Commander Mograine and High Inquisitor Whitemane.
Stage One - Mograine
This stage begins the encounter and ends when Mograine is killed.
- Scarlet Commander Mograine
- Applies stacks of Crusader Strike (dispel, magic) to the tank, increasing damage taken.
- Targets random players with Hammer of Justice (dispel, magic).
- Becomes immune to damage while Divine Shield is active.
- Can use Lay on Hands to heal an enemy back to full health.
- Causes light damage to melee damage dealers with Retribution Aura.
Stage Two - Mograine and Whitemane
This stage begins after Mograine is killed and ends when both Mograine and Whitemane are killed.
- All players are affected by Deep Sleep while Whitemane emerges from the room at the back of the chapel.
- High Inquisitor Whitemane
- Resurrects Scarlet Commander Mograine using Scarlet Resurrection.
- Interrupt Heal to prevent the healing.
- Purge Power Word: Shield to remove the damage absorption effect.
- Scarlet Commander Mograine
- Uses the same abilities from stage one.
Healing Notes
- The second stage can be difficult while dealing with two bosses, be prepared for the extra damage on the tank.
Debuffs to Track
- Major: Hammer of Justice (dispel, magic)
- Minor: Crusader Strike (dispel, magic)
- Buffs to Purge: Power Word: Shield
High Inquisitor Fairbanks
This boss is hidden in a room at the back-right of the chapel, accessed by clicking a torch on the wall.
- Dispel Curse of Blood (curse) to remove the increased physical damage taken.
- Dispel Sleep (magic).
- Dispel Fear (magic)
- Interrupt Heal to prevent the healing.
- Purge Power Word: Shield to remove the damage absorption effect.
- Can dispel buffs on players or debuffs on himself using Dispel Magic.
Healing Notes
- This fight has a lot of crowd control effects to dispel, and could get hectic if you or the tank end up affected often.
- Be aware of buffs dispelled on players by Dispel Magic so you can reapply them.
Debuffs to Track
- Major: Curse of Blood (dispel, curse), Sleep (dispel, magic), Fear (dispel, magic)
- Buffs to Purge: Power Word: Shield
Trash Mobs
Below are notes for the trash mobs in Scarlet Monastery - Cathedral. Scarlet Monastery - Cathedral has a relatively linear layout. The trash below is ordered as if you're completing the bosses in the order they're listed above.
- Throughout the instance, Humanoid enemies will attempt to run away in fear when at low health. Be prepared to slow and snare them.
Entrance thru Scarlet Commander Mograine
- Scarlet Centurion
- Increases nearby enemy attack power with Battle Shout.
- Scarlet Sorcerer
- Scarlet Wizard
- Stay at least 10-yards away to avoid Arcane Explosion and Fire Shield (dispel, magic).
- Scarlet Abbot
Trash Debuffs to Track
- Major: Slow (dispel, magic)
- Minor: Fire Shield (dispel, magic)
- Enrages to Dispel: None
- Buffs to Purge: Renew
